Day 1: Arrive to Cusco & Explore the Sacred Valley

Each journey provides a different experience to the traveler and is incredibly magical
Explore over city streets, rugged and unpaved roads; walk over rough, steep, and sometimes slippery paths without handrails; and climb many high and uneven stone steps at Inca sites.
Discounts apply to anyone who has a valid STUDENT CARD at the time of the journey (Students must be under 25 years of age) or who is 17-years-old or younger. The discount is $25 USD per person.
To book a tour you need to enter in contact with our consulters and make an initial payment of 350.USD per person, the remaining balance can be paid online in full or installments up to 30 days prior to start date, or in cash on our office upon your arrival. Also, we are going to require a scanned copy of your passport.
On your arrival to Cusco in the morning, our team will be waiting for you to take you to the center of the city in order to exchange your money for Soles (Peruvian currency). Then we will go to Sacsayhuaman, here you can appreciate the huge rocks used for the construction of this magnificent Inca temple, also famous because in this place Inti Raymi is celebrated every June 24th.
Then we will drive towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas where we can appreciate from far away from the archaeological site of Pisac, our lunch also will be held in Pisac then finally we will go along the Urubamba River to the town of Ollantaytambo where we will visit the archaeological center. After the visit, the trip leader will take you to your hotel before having the opportunity to explore, relax and enjoy dinner in this beautiful city.
Note: the visit to the places described will depend on the time of your flight’s arrival.
We encourage you to get up early in order to get to the train station and board the train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes, where our guide will be waiting for you to take you to the bus station and travel for approximately 25 minutes to Machu Picchu.
Once you arrive at Machu Picchu, we will take you to the place where photos for postcards are taken. Then you will have a guided tour of two hours around Machu Picchu, later followed by free time to explore more on your own the rest of Machu Picchu.
When you finish exploring Machu Picchu, you will take a bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch, and then you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, from where we will get our transport back to Urubamba, where we will leave you at your hotel.
After breakfast at 6:30, we will go to the Salineras / salt mines of Maras. There are 3000 pools of salt on the side of a mountain, which act as evaporation chambers. These pools became the main economic activity for all the local inhabitants.
After the salt mines, we will go to the Archaeological site of Moray. The Inca used Moray as a way of studying agriculture. They built terraces in a huge pit to experiment with different vegetables in different levels of altitude. You will see each terrace and the differences of level altitudes.
Then we will go to Chinchero, where we will see some Inca terraces, used as the perfect place to grow potatoes. All of the Inca civilization got the supply of potatoes from here, also visit the colonial church, which was built by the Spanish over the Inca palace. Finally, we will visit a textile center where we will have lunch with their members, then they will show us their art inherited from the Incas, we will also be part of each stage for a unique experience. Then you will have free time for shopping and financially contribute to these villagers in their textile center.
Finally, we will continue our trip to the city of Cusco.
Today, we will take you to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
