The official classifications of the hotels vary from one city to another. Our standard hotels are hotels of medium class. Higher classification hotels, generally offer better facilities and more comfort.
You can pay our services by bank transfer, or by PayPal online with a debit card or credit card. The payments of the balance can be made by bank transfer, credit card or debit card, and cash at our office in Cusco.
The excursions are operated together with other tourists. Usually, these will be in English, although the groups are sometimes a mixture of English and Spanish or Portuguese. We require a minimum of 2 people for some excursions. On some occasions, the order of the excursions may vary.
For the majority of our holidays, age is not a concern. However, it requires a reasonable level of physical fitness, since the majority of the vacation will require a bit of walking, sometimes on uneven terrain. Even activities relatively mild can be strenuous at altitude. The trekking at high altitude is more strenuous than a walk of equivalent length.
Adequate travel insurance is essential. We do not sell nor recommend any specific company.
Tell your insurer of any pre-existing medical condition and, if you are booking a vacation associated with trekking to high altitudes, such as the Inca Trail, make sure you are covered for this. If you plan to carry out any other activity, make sure that your insurance policy covers you for this.
British citizens do not require visas in advance for any destination in Mountain Tours Peru. For British passports endorsed in any manner and all other passports, please check with the corresponding consulate: Peru (Tel: 020 7838 9223). You need a valid passport for the time you will spend on your trip.
If children are not traveling with both parents, some countries require a letter of consent to enter or exit. Please refer to the corresponding consulate. To issue some tickets, we require passport details and ages when you make the reservation. If you later change your passport, please let us know as soon as possible.

Many parts of South America are at high altitude. The majority of visitors do not suffer major problems. However, the shortness of breath is common, and we advise you to take it easy during your first day at altitude. If you have a heart condition or lung condition or think you may suffer due to the altitude, please consult your primary care physician.
When traveling, stomach diseases are not uncommon due to changes in the diet. We suggest that you only drink bottled water and avoid ice in drinks. If you are not sure whether the salads and fruit have been washed with purified water, it is best to avoid them.

Outside major cities, medical facilities can be basic, which means a prolonged transfer if it requires hospital care.
